Why do I watch the news?????

I mean it.
5 minutes I have been watching the news and heard about a train exploding outside Montreal and a plane crashing in San Francisco.

I wanted to vent because of something a read today (I posted a link to it on the post before this one) and than made the mistake of turning on the news.

No wonder I can't sleep.

I am one of those people who see and hear to much.
Some times the way it makes me feel is so draining.
I know what people are capable of.
A cruel lesson learned young and reinforced over time.
I have noticed lately that many things are happening with the weather as well,
beginning to believe the planet is rebelling as well.

I truly believe that this world is losing a battle.
A battle for life.
Humans are hurting and killing each other.
Destroying the planet and all it's life forms.
We are creating illness that can't be cured.
Creating technology for personal use without the teaching ethics.
Allowing people to bully others (both young and old) without doing anything to stop it.
We turn a blind eye when we see something we know is wrong.
We take from those who have little and give to those who don't truly need it.
We judge people with out knowing who they are.
Our government and police deny help to those who need it because it is to much work, time and/or money to prove wrong doing, but will spend a fortune to try prove a lie is not a lie.

This world is getting worse.
People treat others terribly, there is no respect, no empathy.
They only do things if they get something out of it.
Our young people see this and think it is okay behavior and mimic it.

For years I have read books, watched movies, trying to find an answer on how to make the world place.
I have seen many theories.
I have spent a lot of time thinking on this problem, why people can't get along, to live in peace.
And I don't mean recently.
When I was little I used to daydream about my father riding up on a white horse and taking me to a place where everything would be fine.
I grew out of that very quickly.
I grew up and saw the world for what it was.
I never really thought like the other kids and as I grew realized that I did not see the world as others did.
It is one of the reasons why I did not do the normal school girl things or dream of proms etc.
Never hung around other girls my age, was more of a loner.
For most of my adult life I have been looking for a way to make the world better.
To make it safe, so that children (and adults) could live without fear, not have to worry if they will have a safe home, and be loved and not hurt and abused.
Not one theory, book or movie, even combined will work.
Nothing in history can teach us how to change the world- just tell you what not to do.

I have even thought about the theory of the end days.
If you have heard of it, some religions believe that one day God will remove the righteous from the earth(after the world becomes more or less even worse than it is now) and than those who are not with him by than will spend a 1000 yrs (I believe that was one theory)being tempted by evil to prove to Him that they are worthy to go to heaven.
Okay that might work - weed out all those of impure thought from heaven.

Why must we die to have peace on earth?
Why can't the human race prove that we are capable for peace and love?
Why can't we create a generation where violence and hate are unheard of?
Where everyone is equal.  Where no one wants for food or clothes or a roof over their head.
Where sickness can be cured or even wiped out.
Where all can enjoy life, work to clean up the planet, invent things to save the earth instead of destroying it.
If we could do that we could reach for the stars!
People will have the freedom to think and grow.
To explore the universe.
Is that not why it is there?
The one thing we can learn from history, is that the human race grows, as we advanced across the earth, we learned.  We have a lot more to learn, and we can grow to fill the universe with love and knowledge but we can't if we do not act as one.

I have theories and ideas that I have tried to work out, I have never thrown them out.
Every once in a while I will get an idea to add to the lists.
Every time the end results are the same.
Unless every person all around the world agrees to change we are lost.
Everyone has to give up hate, prejudice, greed, lust, anger, anything that would lead to violence and abuse.
It can not happen in just one city, country, or continent at a time, it must be the whole world, all at once.
It will not work any other way.

When I lay down at night I have to purposely think of something other that how our world is,
how people hurt others.
If I can't than I don't sleep.
As it is now I can not sleep on my own, I never really could.
Wonder why??

I am not saying give up trying.  I will never give up.
For now I try to fight what I think is wrong, speak up when I can.
Right now all I can do is try to get others to think as I do, who want a better world.
So for now I have to try and change one person at a time.
Maybe they can change one person so on and so on.
It is a start.
Maybe one day I will find the answer, maybe I don't, but someone else will eventually, I hope.
I can not believe that I am the only one that spends this amount of time thinking about it.

When I think about it, everything I do is to an end.
A better world.
For me, my family, loved ones, friends, friends I haven't met, everyone.
I will never see this world I dream of but I hope that there are young people right now who have the strength to try and find the answer.
There has to be one.
Somewhere.
If not we are lost.

ACCEPTANCE SPEECH
I am so honored to receive this beautiful award!  I want to thank Tazein Mirza Saad from the blog, Transcendingbordersblog!  She inspires me with her courage and willingness to share her story and promote the betterment of the human race!  It is so encouraging to receive this and the other awards from my fellow bloggers, and that they read what I write!!  What is funny is how hard it is to write this Acceptance Speech (something I have never done before) but yet is seems easy to write on my blogs, where the worlds seem to come out all on their own!
If there was one thing I could tell a new blogger (or any blogger), it is to realize the power of words.  We can change the world, here on these blogs.  We can help those with words of encouragement and support, we can make the planet a village or better yet a home.  We can make the earth a planet populated by a large, loving family, working together not strangers striving to bring others down.  We have the power to spread the news of the injustices done to our fellow humans, animals and the earth.
Talk from the heart!  The truth and feelings will come through in your words or even pictures. Say what you feel not what you think others want to hear.  Honesty and passion can work wonders.  Talk as if you are talking to your best friend, reach for the individual, make your readers think you are talking to them personally!  I know sometimes it is not easy, and you can not do it all the time, but I truly believe we can change the world, one person at a time.  Than they change another until everyone is striving for the same goal, a better world for tomorrow!
Okay sorry started preaching again!  I hope I can live up to this award and live in the moment, strive to make each moment the best!
So for my closing words (but you were glad to read that!)  Live for now and tomorrow, don't dwell in the past, only learn from it!
Alice (Aj)

My nominations are:
Okay that is it I believe, check out the different blogs, each having their own contrubtion to a better world, I hope you all agree with me!
